Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Coming to hh2

Learn about hh2’s upcoming Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), including what’s changing, how the phased rollout works, and what customers should expect.

Overview

To further strengthen account security, hh2 is introducing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) across all hh2 platforms and modules.

MFA adds an extra layer of protection during login by requiring users to verify their identity using a one-time code, in addition to their username and password. This helps protect user accounts and company data from unauthorized access.

How MFA Rollout Works

MFA will be introduced using a phased rollout over approximately four weeks.

  • MFA is not automatically enabled for all customers.

  • You will receive a separate communication when your organization becomes eligible to enable MFA.

  • MFA must be activated by the hh2 Support team once your organization is eligible.

This phased approach allows our Support team to provide focused assistance and ensure a smooth experience for all customers.

Who MFA Applies To

  • MFA is required for customers using payroll and benefits platforms or modules.

  • For all other customers, MFA is optional.

If MFA is not required for your organization or you do not wish to enable it, no action is needed. MFA will only be enabled at your request.

What Users Will Experience

Once MFA is enabled for your organization:

  • Users will be prompted during login to enter a one-time verification code.

  • The code is delivered using the contact information associated with the user’s account.

  • Users must successfully verify their login before accessing hh2.

Additional MFA prompts may occur if users log out, switch devices, or experience session changes.

What Admins Should Do

If you plan to enable MFA or are required to use it:

  • Ensure user contact information is accurate and up to date.

  • Watch for eligibility and enablement communications from hh2.

  • Coordinate with hh2 Support when ready to activate MFA.

No preparation is required unless your organization plans to enable MFA or is required to do so.
