Understanding Vyki Notifications
Vyki sends outbound notifications to employees and managers on the Payroll Manager's behalf. Here's a complete reference for what gets sent, to whom, and when.
Notification Types
|
Notification |
Recipient |
Trigger |
|
Missing time reminder |
Field Employee |

Payroll status summary |
Payroll Manager (all active) |
Sent at each of the four automated schedule points, and after any automated run. |
Notification Delivery
Vyki determines how to deliver each notification based on the contact information on the user's hh2 record:
- Cell phone number present: SMS delivered first
- No cell phone, primary phone number present: SMS to primary phone
- No phone number: email delivered
- No phone number and no email: notification cannot be delivered — update the user's contact record
|
Note: All notifications go out during your company's defined hours of operation. No employee or manager will receive an SMS in the middle of the night. |
Smart Sending
Before every notification, Vyki checks whether it still needs to go out:
- Missing time reminder: only sent if the employee still has no time entered
- Approval reminder: only sent if the time sheet is still pending at that approver's level
No one receives a notification for something they've already handled.
What Employees and Managers See
Outbound notifications from Vyki arrive as a plain message from your company. Recipients do not interact with Vyki directly — they receive the message and take action in hh2 (or by responding to the notification, depending on the notification type).
